Schiffstaufe Santa Livia

The two 1,819-TEU ships "San Albano" and "San Alberto" were christened at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard on 6 June 2007. Using the names "Cap Portland" and "Cap Palmerston", both newly completed vessels commenced a long-term charter with the Hamburg-Sued shipping company.

Park of Hyundai Mipo, Anja Rodenberg of Todt & Partner, longstanding tax adviser to the CPO shipping company and "godmother" on this occasion, Birgit Bardtke from the Accounting Department at CPO, who also acted as "godmother", with her husband Bernd, and Lothar Knoechelmann who represented the shipping company (from left to right).

The “Santa Lucilla” (9,200 TEU) was named at the Samsung Shipyard in Geoje/South Korea on 21 March 2007. She is now operating under the charter name “MSC Lisbon”.

The 8,411 TEU newbuilding from the Daewoo Shipyard (Okpo), Korea, was named by Ms. Goerel Elowson in Bremerhaven on 25 February 2007 with the shipowner’s name SANTA LAURA.

Ms. Elowson is the wife of Chris Elowson, Senior Vice President of the Norwegian DnB NOR Bank. The ship was on its first European voyage on charter with the Maersk line, under the charter name MAERSK SURABAYA. Captain Martin Goertz assisted Ms. Elowson at the naming ceremony – it was not conducted on the ship’s hull, but on the port bridge wing, due to unloading operations on the quay (photo).
